Lack of native pivot table aggregation and summing
Merchants are unable to perform pivot-style aggregation to sum numeric fields grouped by text fields within Relativity. Currently, the system returns individual values as columns rather than a total sum, forcing users to rely on manual Excel exports or complex SQL scripts.

relativity's built in reporting just doesn't do pivot style aggregation the way you're describing, and the export to excel workaround is what most people end up doing despite the extra step.
Group documents by a short text field, and pivot on a number field. Howeer, rather than return the number as columns in the table, I want Relativity to add it up.
You would have to filter by Thing and could use Sum Mass Operation, but unfortunately not directly available in Relativity.
