Manual effort required for Vault property synchronization and mapping

I have to manually "Synchronize Properties" and then it does. Is there any way to get Vault to wake up and do this on it's own without having to be told?
after mapping, i have to click sync manually, is there any way to force vault run sync automatically ?
I couldn't figure how to bring the custom iProperty from the model to vault.
Upon reviewing the documentation, I found that mapped properties are marked as read-only and cannot be updated programmatically.
