CORS and Mixed Content errors when connecting to data sources

We are encountering XMLHttpRequest failures and 'Unknown error' messages when attempting to connect Grafana to various data sources. The browser console indicates that requests are being blocked due to missing 'Access-Control-Allow-Origin' headers or mixed content security policies when using HTTPS.
