Card #3632 · Grafana
Difficulty configuring ntopng datasource in Grafana
Merchants are struggling to connect Grafana to ntopng datasources due to incorrect documentation regarding ports, missing lua files in stable builds, and protocol mismatches between HTTP and HTTPS. Users report receiving unknown errors, gateway errors, or corrupt responses during plugin installation and datasource testing.

The documentation gives an example of… http://localhost:3001/lua/modules/grafana …though the default ntopng instance runs on 3000.
The grafana directory and subsequent *.lua files in /usr/share/ntopng/scripts/lua/modules/ isn’t there. My dev builds for ntop have these in place, but the stable build of ntop does not.
The Grafana is running with HTTPS protocol and the ntop is running with HTTP. I have also tried in the demo machine where grafana is running with HTTP and I did the same configuration and tested that the datasource was updated and its working fine.
