Card #3717 · SketchUp Extension Warehouse
Scene management, shortcut keys, and tool behavior issues in SketchUp and Layout
Merchants report that shortcut keys for views are not reliably saved, scene management is primitive and lacks folder structures, and the Move, Rotate, and Scale tools in Layout behave inconsistently compared to SketchUp. These issues cause significant workflow friction and time waste, especially when managing many scenes or viewports.

I just set CTRL+PgDn to Top View, CTRL+PgUp to Bottom View, and CTRL+Home to Iso View. Seems to work well. I’m kinda stubborn, I know it will work and hold for Shift or Ctrl, it just should work as “advertised”
Scene management in Sketchup is truly primitive and has not changed since inception. You need to enable some form of collapsible folder structures within the scene window to help us manage large numbers of scenes
SketchUp’s Rotate, Scale, and Move Tools are awful. Coming from tools such as Silo3D, Unity, and many other 3D software, these tools are so weird and hard to grasp in SketchUp. Can you make them easier to use!
In Sketchup pressing the ctrl or option key once toggles copy mode. In Layout you must hold the key while moving. As far as I can tell, this makes accurately copying something (entering a distance) impossible in Layout.
