Mouse input handling in Ruby tools is inefficient and laggy

Developers creating custom Ruby tools in SketchUp find that basic mouse input handling is inefficient and laggy compared to system-level tools. The scroll wheel is not exposed in the Ruby API, and the performance of Ruby-based mouse handling is noticeably worse than native tools. This makes creating responsive custom tools frustrating and resource-intensive.

I do not understand why basic mouse functions are being handled in ruby. I can see why users need the ability to override behavior but the performance of linetool.rb is noticeably worse than the system pencil. FredoTools DrawAlong works better but is still laggy

I really wanted to use SketchUp, but the current illogical navigation controls are an absolute dealbreaker.
