Ineffective native deduplication for contacts and activities
HubSpot's native deduplication tools struggle with messy data, such as name variations and different email formats, leading to fragmented contact records. Additionally, AI-driven meeting integrations often create duplicate activity records, such as simultaneous 'Call' and 'Meeting' entries for a single event.

hubspot's native dedup tool is fine for obvious exact matches but falls apart on the messy stuff, slightly different email formats, name variations, contacts that should merge but don't trigger the automatic match
HubSpot's contacts object dedupes on email as the default unique, so if you extract contact info from an inbound thread and POST without first hitting the batch/upsert endpoint with idProperty=email, you fanout duplicates fast.
it creates a duplicate "Call" and "Meeting" record when only a "Meeting" record is preferred.
