Inconsistent behavior and bugs with product variants
Merchants are experiencing various issues with product variants, including incorrect display logic after theme updates and failures in hiding specific variants on multi-option products. Additionally, some users report that products with variants cause checkout errors or trigger restrictive Instagram Shop flows.

Shopify's update to the variant picker in Dawn broke my last fix for variant display logic without me knowing for a week.
On a product with multiple options (e.g. Size + Color) - say you’re preparing a new colorway that isn’t ready to go live yet. You’d expect unpublishing it to keep it completely hidden from customers. Instead, it still shows up on the product page with a strikethrough
This issue happen to the products that have variants for choosing (Choose Options button). If for the product without variant, I can just add to cart successfully.
The view on website button only appears for products that have no variants or customisation options. Once a product has variants Instagram defaults to the buy now flow which skips your website entirely.
