SketchUp fails to create faces with edges shorter than ~1 mm

SketchUp cannot form faces when edge segments are shorter than about 1 mm, causing holes and missing surfaces in models. This is a known limitation that affects operations like the Follow Me tool, intersections, and cylinder modifications. Users must work around it by scaling models up 10–100x during modeling and scaling back down, or by reducing arc segments.

It can’t form faces when the edge segments are too small. They can exist but they are difficult to create. Things start to be a problem when the segments start getting below 1mm, or the equivalent fraction of an inch.

If this new short segment is less than 1/1000", then SketchUp can’t create a face.
