Jira admins can't validate CSV imports or trust field mapping
The pain
We're trying to bulk-import data into Jira, but the CSV import tool is unreliable and opaque. There's no dry run to validate field mappings, so errors silently create issues with empty fields. The configuration for custom fields, especially select lists, is needlessly complex and forces us to use dummy projects and screens just to map attributes. This makes the whole process untrustworthy and wastes hours of our time.
