The story
The pain
We are migrating from Jira Data Center to Cloud and finding that our heavily customized workflows, screens, and apps like ScriptRunner and Zephyr don't work the same way. Many functions are restructured or crippled in Cloud, forcing us to rewrite scripts, rework workflows, and manually fix data after migration. The process is slow, painful, and the promised 'lift and shift' causes more headaches than it solves.

The jump from DC to Cloud can be a daunting task. I did it solo for 2 Jira and 1 Confluence instances and took me about a year complete all 3 migrations
I’ve been using the new UI since it was in pre-release and I still can’t get used to it. We’re currently facilitating a Dc to Cloud migration for a client and I’m fully expecting people to complain.
First up is the issue of apps. We use a wide variety of apps—ranging from ScriptRunner and Structure to Zephyr Scale. Many functions have been restructured in the Cloud and won't work the same way anymore.
We're moving from DC to Cloud and doing anything is so hard. I navigate in circles, and stubborly keep doing so, so that I can finally make any sense of it, I'm just bookmarking stuff now.
Apps are a major concern. While Atlassian defined mechanism for app migration (so they are integrated into Migration Assistant), how each vendor implement them varies. You have feature parity between DC and Cloud versions, and the app may or may not help you migrate the data.
