The pain
We manage Shopify stores and our organic traffic has tanked because Google is deindexing the majority of our pages. Search Console shows that around 70% of our pages are "Crawled - currently not indexed," and the culprit is the platform's own duplicate URLs — ?variant= parameters, collection-nested product paths, and thin collection pages. Even though we have a legitimate site with real traffic, Google treats these as duplicates and refuses to index them, wasting our crawl budget and killing our rankings.
