The story
The pain
We are required to serve customers who walk in minutes before closing, but then we have to stay unpaid until their food is ready, missing our bus and delaying our entire evening. Our managers threaten to fire us if we refuse service, yet we get no compensation for the extra time.

I don’t think ur understanding lol my issue wasn’t about the order it’s about me staying 30 mins past close, not getting paid, and delaying everything.
I would agree with you 100% but my manager has a rule I’m not allowed to deny service till we close so I have to take the order even if it’s 1 min till close and that necessarily the issue it’s the fact that I have to stay past closed and wait till the food is ready, not getting paid for that extra time, and now I have to wait an hour for the next bus
i would've loved to say that but my manager made it very clear im not allowed to refuse service if we are still open, if someone comes in 1 min before close i have to take the order or ill get fired, i just dont understand why i have to stay the entire time it takes for the order to be done, i take the order and set it up so my job is done technically im not the cook
